World Autism Understanding Month (WAUM) is fast approaching. As we strive to build a better future for Autistic people, let’s make sure we include everyone who identifies as autistic. From the youngest to the oldest, from those who have much to celebrate, to those who face multiple challenges that impact their lives in so many ways, everyone deserves care and the respect of others. A little understanding goes a long way towards building better lives for everyone.
There are many different ways that autism can affect our lives, but we all need support. When we come together and share our experiences with each other and with our community we can help build understanding, empathy and compassion. Let’s make April a time for everyone to share their stories and feel welcomed, appreciated and valued for who they are.
